Volunteer Opportunities Available

Assist with various office tasks such as greeting visitors, corresponding adoption meets, and other administrative duties.

Provide daily care for the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and providing enrichment and socialization. Ensuring all animals have a safe and comfortable environment.

Help create content for social media, newsletters, and other various outlets. This includes photography, short-form videos, and adoptable animal blurbs.

Plan, organize, assist, and execute shelter events, including fundraisers, adoption drives, and community outreach programs.
We will send you emails as we have upcoming events that require volunteers. You do not need an orientation or criminal record check to volunteer for events.

Perform grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and trimming nails and/or hair. Ensure that all animals are clean, comfortable, and looking their best to increase their chances of adoption. Preference for experienced volunteers.

Support the day-to-day functioning of the shelter by assisting with inventory management, coordinating supplies, and maintaining facility cleanliness and organization.

Help with the training and socialization of animals, including basic obedience and behavior modification. Assist in developing and implementing training programs to enhance the adoption potential of the animals.

Provide transport for animals to and from the shelter for adoption events, satellite adoption centers, or other necessary trips. Ensure the safe and comfortable transport of all animals.

Maintain the shelter’s outdoor areas, including the front grass areas and the backyard. Perform general maintenance tasks and ensure the facilities are clean, safe, and well-kept.
How to Become a Volunteer
Check Eligibility
We welcome individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels, however we do have a few requirements for our volunteers:
General volunteers must be 16 years or older. Event volunteers can be 12 years or older, but should have a parent or guardian to accompany them during the event if they are between the ages of 12 - 15.
All volunteers 18+ are required to provide a criminal record check. We can provide a letter of volunteering for your criminal record check.
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude when interacting with staff, other volunteers, and the public.
Some volunteer positions do require the ability to perform physical tasks such as walking dogs, cleaning kennels, and lifting supplies.
While we greatly appreciate interest in volunteering, our current opportunities are designed for individuals seeking longer-term commitments. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate students solely seeking volunteer hours for school requirements at this time. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a minimum of 30 hours or more with us.

Attend Orientation
All new volunteers need to attend an orientation session online, including a few videos and a quiz.
This presentation will go over the basics of the shelter, animal handling, and general volunteer policies. You will also receive our volunteer manual.
Commit Your Time
We ask volunteers to commit to a regular schedule, ensuring consistent support for our activities.
