Lost A Pet

File a Lost Report

Losing a pet can be overwhelming, but by taking immediate steps, you can increase the chances of being reunited with your animal. Here’s what you should do if your pet goes missing:

  1. File a Lost Animal Report with the Saskatoon SPCA: Start by submitting a Lost Animal Report through this link. Ensure the details provided are accurate and up to date.

  2. Check the Found Animals Page at the Saskatoon SPCA: If you’ve lost your pet, be sure to visit the Found Animals page. This page lists all the animals that have been found and are currently in our care. Checking it regularly can greatly increase your chances of being reunited with your pet. New animals are brought in every day, so it’s important to stay updated.

  3. File a Lost Report with Saskatoon Animal Control Agency: If your pet was lost within Saskatoon city limits, it’s crucial to file a lost report with the Saskatoon Animal Control Agency, which manages the City of Saskatoon Pound. Pets found within city limits are often taken there. File a lost report with SACA.

  4. Visit the Saskatoon SPCA Regularly: For animals found outside of Saskatoon, there's a chance they could be brought to the Saskatoon SPCA. Make sure to visit our shelter frequently. It's important to check in person as your pet may have been brought in by someone.

Microchipping and its importance

Microchipping your pet is one of the most effective ways to ensure they can be reunited with you if they go missing. Make sure your pet’s microchip information is up to date with your current contact details. This simple, permanent identification method increases the likelihood of finding your lost pet.
