Snowy’s Second Chance

Help a Young Dog Walk Again

When a kind member of the community found a young dog lying helpless and unable to walk, they called for help. That call led to Snowy — a 7-month-old pup who had been hit by a car and left badly injured.

Our team at the Saskatoon SPCA rushed to his aid. After emergency X-rays, the heartbreaking truth was revealed: Snowy’s pelvis has multiple fractures, leaving him in severe pain and unable to stand.

Despite everything he’s endured, Snowy’s gentle spirit shines through. Even in discomfort, he still wags his tail when someone stops to comfort him. It’s clear he wants to live, to heal, and to love.

Urgent Surgery Needed

Snowy’s condition requires immediate orthopedic surgery and months of rehabilitation to restore his mobility. The estimated cost of his care is $10,000 — a significant amount for our shelter, which receives no government funding.

Our Second Chance Fund exists for animals like Snowy: those who need extraordinary care beyond our regular resources. Every dollar donated to this fund goes directly toward life-saving surgeries, recovery care, and the next animal in need of a second chance.

The good news? Snowy’s surgeons have told us that he has an excellent prognosis with treatment. His surgery is already booked for this week, but we need your help to make it happen.
