Help Ava Heal

Ava’s story reminds us why the Saskatoon SPCA is here for animals in need. She arrived at our shelter with a serious foot injury after being trapped in a snare. She was also pregnant, so her surgery had to wait. Despite her pain, Ava gave birth to five puppies. With help from our veterinary team, she managed her discomfort, while a loving foster home provided warmth and steady care.

Even when underweight and hurting, Ava stayed gentle and patient. Her foster family made sure she had healthy meals and a soft place to rest. Once her puppies were strong enough, Ava finally had surgery to remove her damaged toe. The surgery went well, but her foot became infected, so she needed extra medication and more visits to the vet. Thanks to caring supporters, Ava received the treatment she deserved.

Today, Ava’s puppies have found forever homes, and Ava herself is healing and will soon be ready for adoption. She has touched many hearts with her calm and hopeful nature. Her journey from pain to promise shows what happens when people like you support the Saskatoon SPCA.

Now, we need your help. Many animals who come to our shelter need specialized care or extra time to recover. We depend on donations to provide these services because adoption fees alone do not cover all our costs. When you give today, you become part of a happy ending for animals like Ava.

Will you make a donation and change another life? Your support ensures that every cat or dog who comes through our doors has a chance to heal, grow, and find a loving family. Thank you for believing in our work and for giving hope to animals who cannot help themselves.
